Settings explained

  • Rows × Columns: 2×2 = 4 sheets, 3×3 = 9 sheets. More tiles = larger final poster.
  • Overlap: Small repeated area between neighbour sheets, makes taping together easier. 5-10mm recommended.
  • Page Padding: White border around each tile for cutting and gluing. 0 for no border.
  • Paper Size: A4 for normal printers, A3 for large format printers.

Why split a poster PDF?

Schools and colleges print science posters, event posters, birthday posters and wall art. Large format printers are expensive, but A4 printers are everywhere. By splitting poster into A4 tiles, you can print at home or shop and join with tape. Useful for classroom decoration, shop banners, birthday backdrops and engineering drawings. You save money and get same big poster.

How to split poster PDF

  1. Upload poster PDF – file may have 1 or many pages.
  2. If many pages – enter which page number is the poster page.
  3. Choose quick layout 2×1 to 4×4 or enter custom rows and columns.
  4. Check output sheets count – e.g. 3×2 = 6 sheets.
  5. Choose output paper size – A4 is most common.
  6. Choose orientation – Portrait or Landscape.
  7. Set overlap 5-10mm and padding if needed, click Split Poster into X Pages.
  8. Download split PDF and print all sheets, then join to make full poster.
