PDF Repair Checker – Check if PDF is Damaged or Healthy

A PDF may not open, may show blank pages or may be corrupted after download. The PDF Repair Checker by Smart Maker diagnoses PDF health in browser – checks if PDF can be opened, pages are readable, text layer exists, drawing instructions work and metadata is accessible. Gives health score 0-100 and tells if repair is needed. No upload, 100% private.

What does this checker check?

  • Can PDF be opened – file structure validation
  • Page objects readable – each page viewport check
  • Text layer accessibility – whether text can be extracted
  • Drawing instructions – graphics and operators readable
  • Metadata accessibility – title, author info readable
  • Broken page detection – which pages failed
  • Bookmarks / outline availability and count
  • Embedded attachments availability and count
  • Health Score – 0 to 100 overall PDF health
  • Status – Healthy, Warning or Damaged with label

Status types

  • Healthy – Green: No major problems, all pages readable, no repair needed
  • Warning – Amber: PDF opens but some pages have issues like missing text layer or warnings
  • Damaged – Red: Serious problems, pages fail to render, file may be corrupted

Why check PDF health?

After downloading from email or website, PDFs can be corrupted. Scanned PDFs may have blank pages. Before sending important document to office, college or print shop, you should verify if it opens correctly. This checker saves time – instead of trying to open in different readers, it tells exactly which pages have problems and whether repair or re-export is recommended.

How to check PDF health

  1. Upload PDF – file name, size and page count shown.
  2. Click Check PDF Health – tool analyzes all pages one by one.

Privacy and limitations

All checking happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. PDF never uploaded to server, no file stored. Free forever, no signup, no watermark. Only resume and biodata need login on Smart Maker.

This is a checker only, not a repair tool – it does not modify file. It diagnoses readable problems only; deep corruption needing binary repair may not be fully detected in browser. For actual repair, use dedicated PDF repair software after checking.
